Farewell to 2019 & Welcome to the New Decade

Season's Greeting
 to all our
lovely Family & Friends

Again in lieu of Christmas cards we have donated to UNICEF:
a selection of clothes, books, snacks but most importantly measles vaccines.

Goodness, I seem to be better organised this year as I started writing this seasonal update from Edinburgh on St Andrew’s Day.
A Scotch mist, the Royal Mile & St. Giles
A favourite spot; The Bow Bar near the Grassmarket
As the twelfth month arrives our Rodgers Tribe have had a blessed year.
So here is our year in way too many pictures ...

On 25th January Colin enjoyed his first
Burns Supper at Hamilton Burns Club;
as a guest of David's - thank you.

In February the kids treated us our first wee trip to York, hope we go again.

Can't resist taking a pretty picture - Molly Browns of Stonegate

In March I planted my new spring garden with hellebores  (or as Colin calls them "hell of a bores"). I was inspired by my gardening club visit to Arabella Lennox-Boyd's garden, Gresgarth Hall, near Caton,Lancashire.

Gresgarth's Lake, showing all the structure - well worth a visit.

Dad's Camellia Hedge c. 1994 - Camellia × williamsii 'Donation'

As you can see our lovely hens are still working hard for us

&

we definitely had some extra ‘lawn’ aeration provided by the “little man with the velvet waistcoat”, a mole!

In May we enjoyed a visit to Leeds to see Jamie; to deliver Uncle Pete's much admired coffee table & be led astray!

June arrived bringing BBQ's after a days voluntary work & a wonderful holiday in Brittany with our friends Sue & Patrick who live there, near Bazouges-la-Perouse.

July brought Cumbria 4x4 Response fund raising and a charity performance from Committed 2 Rock's stars - they are in action at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick in February 2020.

Andy with Auntie Betty & Wesson Family

In August both Andy & I got to visit our "Wesson" family in Orpington. Auntie Betty was over from Jo'burg staying with Alice, Richard & family.

September arrived with some glorious sunshine, a visit to Belfast, a 40 Year Reunion from medical school (QUB) and niece Emma & John's wedding near Waterford.
