Here's to Health & Happiness in 2013 ...

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days o' lang syne?
Chorus
For auld lang syne, my Dear
For auld lang syne
We'll tak a cup o kindness yet
For auld lang syne
...
And there's a hand, my trusty feire
And gie's a hand o' thine
And we'll tak a right gude-willie waught
For auld lang syne

& it's strange how there' always time for ...

Poor old Orla, I'm sure she's saying,
"do I really have to? Oh mind my head and this is embarrassing!"

It's been a busy, damp but real family Christmas ...

Only two days left of 2012!

The weather has been mild but damp (Met Office officially confirmed that 2012 is the wetest on record). Nicky & I were laid up with Montesuma's Carlisle's revenge; whilst Jamie has been busy juggling his pizza delivery job (for coins) with his three week work experience at BBC Radio Cumbria (which he's really enjoying) Despite this we've had a lots of precious family time together, after mad last minute preparations...

Coco keeping his beady eyes on proceedings ...

why does wrapping paper have it's own mind?

Frantic cake icing - almond & royal

But we got there...

& dinner was more or less on time...

Hello Family & Friends,

Rather than sending traditional cards we've decided to go 'e' this year -
(so do check out your Jacquie Lawson e card which should arrive soon)

We plan to send a donation to

Colin continues to enjoy researching both our family's  ancestry; Rodgers, Lynns, Hutchesons & Wessons.
Here is a picture of Maria Nelson Brown Clogg b.1819 - grandfather Albert Wesson's grandmother - an 1820
settler in the Cape,SA;

In May we met up with Hutcheson 2nd cousins Rhona & Colin Munro ( Norah Cree's son, on the Hutcheson side) who live north of Inverness on the Black Isle.

So, family members do please contact Colin if you'd like more family news - there is a total ~8,000 entries on the tree - so we are all tiny twiglets after all !!!

We'd love to hear your news, so do keep in touch.

Finally all the best for 2013.

Love from,
Colin, Trish / Tish, Jamie & Nicky

December starts...

Snow is forecast tonight, so we're safely tucked up in bed. I'm glad I've got more bird seed & peanuts for the birds! I am reminded of this Monet,

A busy week of festive meals are organised & we're especially looking forward to seeing Alex & Lucy from Montana. This week I visited this lovely garden in Hayton with Gardening Club cronies; candle lit at first and all illuminated by a full but waning moon.
